Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Case Manager (or Corporate Paralegal) to support our General Counsel in organizing and managing legal cases, tracking deadlines, and improving operational efficiency within the legal department. The Legal Case Manager will handle a diverse range of legal matters, including cargo and liability claims, human resource-related claims, non-compete litigation, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) review, and overall risk and liability projects.

What You’ll Do:
Case Management & Legal Support:
- Oversee and track legal cases, ensuring all deadlines, filings, and court dates are met.
- Maintain case files, legal documentation, and correspondence in an organized and accessible manner.
- Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders, outside counsel, insurers, and regulatory agencies.
- Support General Counsel in drafting and reviewing contracts, legal agreements, and correspondence related to claims and litigation.
Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement:
- Develop and implement legal department procedures to improve workflow and case management.
- Create and maintain reports that provide visibility into ongoing legal matters, risks, and outcomes.
- Support training initiatives for employees on legal risk mitigation, contract management, and compliance topics.
Employment & HR related case management:
- Work closely with HR to support investigations and documentation for employee and human resources related issues.
- Track and monitor cases related to non-compete violations and assist in legal proceedings.
M&A, Compliance & Claims Support:
- Assist in legal due diligence efforts for M&A activities, including document review and organization.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies across all legal matters.
- Maintain records related to risk management and insurance policies.
- Assist in managing cargo and liability claims, gathering relevant documentation, and coordinating with claims adjusters and legal representatives.
What You Bring – Skills & Qualifications:
- College degree in Legal Studies, Business, or a related field; Paralegal certification or a JD is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in a legal case management, paralegal, or legal operations role, preferably in a corporate legal department or law firm.
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures, case management, and compliance in areas relevant to employment law.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.
- Proficiency in legal research tools, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
